Leading By Serving Others
The Spring Valley Beta Club is
a non-profit, leadership service organization for students in grades nine
through twelve. Students must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a clean
disciplinary record in order to be invited to join this honor society.
The primary purpose of this club is to stimulate effort, reward achievement,
and to encourage and assist members to continue their education afeter
high school. Prospecitive members must exhibit good character and
mentality, creditable achievement, and a commutable attitude. At
the end of their senior year, members in good standing receive a special
beta cord in honor of their scholastic achievement.
The Spring Valley Beta Club
is one of the largest club of its kind in the state. Members participate
in a wide range of academic and social activities: quiz bowls, canned food
drives, fitness walks, state/national conventions, pizza parties,
and school improvement activities (just to name a few!). In its third
year of existence (1997-1998), the SV Beta Club continues to grow and expand
in its mission to "lead by serving others."
